Our experts have a recognized track record of success in the creation, development and global commercialization of drug-eluting stents, balloons, polymers and drugs. They are passionate people, driven by innovation, with a clear focus on patient benefit and proving this benefit with clinical-based evidence.

The majority of the company’s R&D and manufacturing is conducted in-house, giving it more flexibility and agility over larger rivals and allowing it to retain greater control over its proprietary technology.

Jeff has nearly 40 years’ experience of the international medical devices industry, 15 years of which have been at Board level. He is the former CEO of SGX publicly listed company Biosensors where he spent 13 years, which during this time grew from a start-up to become the fourth largest supplier of cardiac stents in the world. In addition to President and CEO he served as a Board Director and Chairman of Biosensors Europe.Jeff has also been a Non-Executive Director of various medical device companies including Symetis (sold to Boston Scientific), PneumRx (sold to BTG), Maya (sold to Covidien), Benechill, Anecova, Veryan and ARTS and former Chairman of Combioxin S.A. He is currently serving as an Independent Board Director for Impulse Dynamics and Chairman of Aleva Neuro S.A.

Simos is currently CEO of Impulse Dynamics, a medical device manufacturer of a heart failure implantable device with a presence in the US, Europe and Asia.  He was previously a Corporate Vice President of Business Development for Boston Scientific.  In this capacity, he sourced, negotiated and closed investments and strategic alliances in the US, Japan and Emerging Markets. Prior to this, he was an Associate Partner with McKinsey & Company specializing in financial investments in medical technology and pharmaceutical companies for private equity and corporate clients.

Sam is CEO at Salubris Biotherapeutics, Inc. and also serves as VP and Head of International Business Development for Shenzhen Salubris Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Salubris, Sam worked for more than ten years in strategy consulting and transaction advisory services across several global firms including Simon-Kucher & Partners and IMS (now IQVIA), where he was a Senior Principal in the strategy consulting division and Managing Director of IMS Health Capital. Sam’s commercial strategy engagements encompassed 18 of the top 25 pharmaceutical companies, and his transaction advisory work included financings, alliances and acquisitions collectively exceeding $2B USD. Sam completed his B.A. in Biochemistry, Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Gene Therapy and Translational Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he focused principally on gene therapy during his 13 years of bench research. Sam is currently a board director at Viracta Therapeutics (NASDAQ: VIRX), chairman of the board at GO Therapeutics, and board observer at Mercator Medsystems.

Yan is a Senior Managing Director of CITIC Capital Partners and leads the investments in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining CITIC Capital in 2008, Yan worked at EQT Partners, focusing on China buy-out investments and at China International Capital Corporation (CICC), specializing in equity and debt offerings. Yan has nearly 20 years’ investment experience in the healthcare industry and sits on the Boards of China Biologic Products Holdings (NASDAQ:CBPO), Hygeia Healthcare Holdings (6078.HK), Lifestyles Healthcare, Fullerton Healthcare China and LELO Sensation Holdings.

Scott has over 24 years’ experience of the medical device industry, including expertise in balloon and stent manufacturing, in-depth knowledge of the global coronary, peripheral and AV Fistula marketplace, as well as a solid understanding of the global regulatory environment.

Scott was most recently a Board Director of OrbusNeich Medical, where he was responsible for global operations. He held the titles of Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. Scott is the primary patent holder for the “Stent Having Dual Helical Design”, which provides the backbone for all OrbusNeich stent platforms. Having spent the last 15 years overseas, the majority in mainland China, he has considerable knowledge of key global markets.

John has over 40 years’ experience in the medical device industry, including positions held in product development, manufacturing, sales and marketing management with Spacelabs, Gould Medical/Spectramed and Bird Respiratory Corporation.  John co-founded Albion Instruments, a successful startup that developed laser instruments for precision measurement of depth of anesthesia and respiration/gas exchange for patients undergoing general anesthesia.  At Bird Corporation, he supervised development of a ventilator which is now the system of choice for life saving rescue procedures involving premature newborns. At Spectramed he successfully designed and introduced thermodilution catheter technology and a line of disposable blood pressure transducers.  John was a co-founder of Biosensors International, a successful public company for whom he designed the first drug-eluting stents with biodegradable polymer coatings. Biosensors grew to over $200M sales/1600 employees during his tenure as CTO. A founder of MedAlliance, John assembled the initial engineering team and has been the primary architect of the company’s innovative SELUTION™ SLR drug-coated balloon technology.

Susanne has over 25 years’ experience in the Medical Device industry. She joined MedAlliance in 2016 as VP Medical Affairs and is responsible for Clinical, Medical Affairs and Marketing activities. Susanne brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles in the medical device industry and an ability to adapt to challenging business settings. Prior to joining MedAlliance she was Director Medical Communication at Biosensors, and has held several Marketing positions at Abbott Vascular, JOMED, Boston Scientific and 3M.

Laurent has more than 25 years of experience in the Medical Device industry and more specifically in Cardiovascular, Endovascular and Neurovascular. Before joining MedAlliance, Laurent has held several senior international positions with Cordis in Sales, General Management, Marketing Management and New Business Development with Cardinal Health and before that with Johnson & Johnson. Thanks to his international assignments in Europe and US, Laurent brings a solid track record of successful product launches and management of commercial organizations across different geographies.

Mark has more than 30 years of medical device experience, holding senior roles in Product Development, Regulatory and Clinical Research.  He has in-depth experience bringing complex and novel Class III devices from concept through to commercialization including absorbable polymer implants and device-drug combination products.  He was most recently VP R&D Clinical Regulatory for Terumo in Europe. Some of his previous positions include Senior Research Fellow in Drug Delivery at Boston Scientific, Director R&D at Biotronik, Chief Technology Officer at Capella, and Director R&D at JNJ Mitek.

Jean-Pierre brings to MedAlliance a wealth of experience and a proven track record in business, corporate finance and public markets, as well as acumen in strategic, M&A, and operational excellence. His career has spanned a series of positions of increasing scope and responsibility. Most recently he served as Chief Operating Officer of Wisekey (SIX: WIHN). Prior to Wisekey, Jean-Pierre served as CFO of Ecore Group, Group Vice-President Finance at STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), Director of Finance for Biosite Inc. International operations (NASDAQ: BSTE), and Chief Accounting Officer at Gemplus (NASDAQ: GEMP). Jean-Pierre started his career as a financial auditor with PWC and is a Chartered Accountant.

Scott has over 35 years’ experience of the international medical devices industry, 25 years of which have been in senior management roles. He has successfully led several start-up companies, having been responsible for significant growth of each. This has included development from R&D to full manufacturing, with Quality Systems to facilitate commercialization of key products.  Scott is Founder-VP Operations & Finance at Hummingbird Medical and was previously COO and Executive VP Operations at Biosensors. He was also a Senior Manager within the Cardiovascular Division of both Sorin Biomedical and Shiley.

Amit has over 15 years’ experience in the healthcare and medical technology industry.

Prior to joining MedAlliance he was Vice President of Emerging Markets for Biosensors International where he was responsible for South America, Middle East, Africa and Asia region and was instrumental in developing and managing their Endovascular and Cardiovascular product lines and distribution channels in these markets.

He also previously held positions in product and market research, strategy consulting and business development with companies such as Frost and Sullivan and Clarus Systems in California, USA.

Amit holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Marketing and International Business, San Francisco, California, USA and a Bachelor of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering from Pune, India.

Ivan is an MD and technology expert, with 20 years of experience in MedTechs, and BioTechs (Merck/EMD Serono).  He holds several patents and has led the clinical validation of drug-device combination and robotic devices.

Previously Director of Quality at Biosensors, Ivan headed the company’s certifications, compliance, and product safety, from its initial DES launch and throughout its global expansion.  He brings a proficiency of PMS, vigilance, and interface with authorities, and a cross-functional expertise in scaling and relocating regulated operations globally.
